Sesame Street Book of Opposites by Zero Mostel and George Mendoza

Here we have a signed, first edition copy of the Sesame Street Book of Opposites, published in 1974 by Platt & Munk. This is a 48-page book featuring Zero Mostel, demonstrating pairs of opposites with humorous mimes.

This book is signed by the late actor/comedian/singer Samuel Joel “Zero” Mostel, who began appearing on Sesame Street during its sixth season, illustrating opposite concepts in pantomime, with music by Sam Pottle. These “opposites” are collected in this book. The book is also signed by collaborator George Mendoza.

This book is in very good vintage condition. There’s a scrunch at the top of the spine, as you can see in the photos, and a scratch on the back (starting at the middle of his hat). Also, the front cover is a little sun faded. The pages inside are wonderfully in tact, making this a lovely experience for children to learn opposites from a three-time Tony Award winning actor, or for a Sesame Street collector!
